Reporting directly to Battery Design Team Leader make design improvements to actual battery design, and push our technology further for the next generation.
Use CAD to develop new concepts.
Develop and fabricate functional prototypes and test methods to vet out new concepts.
Complete design cycles from concepts to fully validated production designs.
Battery system structural design, CAD, CAE, crush safety, component integration, and vehicle mechanical, thermal and high voltage electrical interface.
Mechanical integration of battery cells, electromechanical components and hardware.
Test plan development, issue resolution, and lab and in-vehicle testing of battery systems.
Collaborate closely with suppliers to develop parts.
Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering from concept through production release with a focus on DFM.
A detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
Proficient in CAD modeling, (CATIA v5 experience is required).
Experience with various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, thermoforming, welding/brazing, plating, heat treating, bonding, and direct machine shop skills a plus.
Test experience, including knowledge of sensors, DACs, data collection and data analysis is a plus but not mandatory.
New grad to 5 years mechanical engineering experience.
BS in Mechanical Engineering. MS beneficial but not required.
Experience with student formula vehicle competition beneficial.
Experience with full life-cycle of product development processes.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as IEC, ISO and GB.

2+ years of direct battery system development experience in automotive industry is a plus
