For our client we are currently looking for a Infrastructure Network Architect (m/f/d) - Frankfurt (50%) and Remote.

Your tasks

    • Conceptualization of designs and providing validation of end-to-end network architecture in alignment with the requirements of a multi-vendor data center and WAN environment.
    • Overseeing the lifecycle of network components from hardware-level configuration to custom software integrations.
    • Reviewing the current architecture state and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and project-specific goals.
    • Actively contributing to the implementation by supporting engineering teams in hands-on tasks and proof-of-concept development.
    • Evaluating of architectural proposals and implementations for compliance with defined security and performance benchmarks.
    • Consulting on architectural gaps or risks and recommend corrective actions where needed.
    • Monitoring architectural consistency across engineering deliverables and resolve misalignments during implementation.
    • Considering cost-efficiency and long-term operational impact as part of every architectural decision.
    • Consulting on new technology trends such as Kubernetes networking, DPU-based networking, and Zero Trust concepts into the overall architecture.
    • Identifying areas for modernization and continuous improvement.
    • Addressing architectural gaps proactively through innovative, cross-cutting solutions.
    • Balancing strategic, technical, and business perspectives to guide sustainable evolution of the infrastructure.
    • Interpreting and providing structure of EDP (Enterprise Digital Platform) and domain-specific technical requirements into clear architecture blueprints.
    • Interfacing with infrastructure and software stakeholders to align on solution intent and feasibility.
    • Providing architectural clarity and act as a resource for cross-domain implementation questions.
    • Acting as an architecture point of contact for functional technical guidance and clarification
    • Applying defined architectural and project processes consistently throughout design and delivery phases.
    • Maintaining complete documentation of architecture decisions, interface contracts, and system designs.
    • Contributing to knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability through structured documentation practices.
    • Prioritizing tasks based on complexity, urgency, and strategic relevance.
    • Tracking progress, identify potential risks early, and communicate issues transparently.
    • Engaging with stakeholders to gather missing input or validate assumptions.

Your qualifications

    • Minimum 7 years of hands-on architectural experience in private, on-premises cloud environments
    • In-depth knowledge in Core DC Networking (VXLAN, FRRouting, OVS)
    • In-depth knowledge in Core WAN Networking (MPLS, IS-IS, Segment Routing)
    • Well-experienced in k8s networking (CNI, external-dns)
    • Well-experienced in IXP Connectivity (BGP)
    • Well-experienced in DNS, DHCP, IPAM (Infoblox, BIND9)
    • Proven ability to design holistic, end-to-end architecture solutions that fit within a broader IT strategy.
    • Experience with architecture governance, including validation, risk documentation, and integration with security/networking standards.
    • Deep understanding of infrastructure principles, networking protocols, and security mechanisms within large-scale private cloud ecosystems.
    • Capable of translating technical and EDP requirements into actionable architecture blueprints.
    • Skilled in producing clear, professional architectural documentation and diagrams.
